Lessons for classes
Short guided lessons in exercise biomechanics, run on MyoHeat's live model of the body: every step sets up a lift or a load, shows the joint moments and the muscles doing the work, and asks a question with its answer. For kinesiology, physiotherapy, sports science and coaching courses.
Hip or knee? Squat versus deadlift
Where the bar sits relative to each joint decides which joint does the work; long thighs turn a squat into a hinge. 3 steps.
Leverage: why raises burn at the top
The same weight is heavier on a joint the further it is held from it: the lateral raise through its rep, and a plate you move yourself. 2 steps.
Speed adds load
The same squat, slow and fast: accelerating the body takes force on top of holding it up. 2 steps.
Muscles share the work
Glutes and hamstrings share hip extension in the hip thrust; the leg curl isolates the knee flexors. 2 steps.
Bigger and stronger
Strength grows with muscle area and weight with volume: why effort rises far less than body mass. 2 steps.
Using them in class
- Share a lesson's link, or a single step's: the address bar always holds the lesson and step (
?lesson=hinge&step=2). - Nothing to install and no accounts: it runs in any recent browser, on laptops and phones.
- Every claim a lesson makes is checked against the model before each release, and the credits list the model's sources and where it disagrees with measurements. It is an educational model, not a clinical tool.
- Put a view on a course page with the embed, or pull the numbers into an exercise sheet with the API.
